From stilettos to ballet flats and polished oxfords to driving moccasins, they styles of footwear are as varied as the people that wear them but one constant remains - all shoes require proper care to keep them in good shape.
In our third installment, we discuss quick and easy ways to improve the look of your favorite pieces.
Prevent suede stains: Apply talcum powder to absorb fresh stains. Gently brush the powder away with an old tooth brush or cloth.
Suede scratches: Use a nail file to gently remove scratches. This technique may be used to remove some old stains as well -- be gentle!
Restore shine: Bring back the shine to patent leather shoes by wiping them with window cleaner or petroleum jelly.
Water stains: Remove water stains from leather by gently wiping with a sponge dipped in warm water and a mild dish detergent. Or, use a toothbrush dipped in white vinegar.
